The Bylaws

The Society shall be called 대한치과경영학회, in English the Korean Academy of Dental Business Administration, abbreviated as "KADA."

To achieve its purpose, the Society shall carry out the following activities:

• Academic research — colloquia and the annual conference, and publication of the journal
• Academic exchange with the international community
• Surveys of dental care practice
• Dental care quality · management · resources · policy · informatics
• Dental hospital accreditation-related work and other projects

The Society consists of regular members, affiliated members, honorary members, and corporate members.

A member shall be a person who supports the purpose of the Society and has an interest in dental administration.

• Regular members are dentists and dental hygienists of the Republic of Korea.
• Affiliated members are those enrolled in or having completed an undergraduate or graduate program at a dental educational institution (including international students).
• Honorary members are persons of distinguished service to the Society, nominated by members and approved by the board.
• Corporate members are dental clinics, hospitals, and other organizations wishing to join, approved by the board.

Anyone wishing to join shall submit the prescribed application, obtain the approval of the officers, and pay the prescribed admission fee and annual dues. The board may determine the amounts and whether payment is required.

• Every member has the right and duty to take part in the Society's activities and meetings.
• Only regular members hold the right to vote and to stand for election.
• Members shall observe the bylaws, regulations, and resolutions, and pay the prescribed dues and contributions.
• A member who fails to fulfill these duties may be disciplined by resolution and approval of the members.

The Society may appoint advisors and an honorary president, subject to the members' approval.

• Death of the member
• The member's wish to withdraw from the Society
• The member's unethical conduct

The Society shall have the following officers:

• A number of advisors
• One President
• Vice presidents, including a Senior Vice President
• Directors of general affairs, academic affairs, editing, research, planning, finance, and external relations, and one auditor

The President is elected at the General Assembly; other officers, including vice presidents, are appointed by the President and hold the qualification of director. The President serves a two-year term and may be re-elected by resolution of the General Assembly.

The President represents the members, oversees the affairs of the Society, and chairs all of its meetings.

One vice president shall be elected Senior Vice President by resolution of the board, and shall act as the President-elect in the President's absence.

The directors resolve the general business of the Society.

Officers serve a term of two years. An officer elected to fill a vacancy serves the remainder of the predecessor's term.

The General Assembly is composed of the members defined in Article 5.

The General Assembly consists of a regular session and special sessions; the regular session is held once a year. Special sessions are convened by the President at the request of the members.

All resolutions, including those of the General Assembly, require the attendance of a majority and are adopted by a majority vote of those present. The board convenes as matters require and is presided over by the President.

The following require a resolution of the General Assembly:

• Amendment of the bylaws
• Approval of programs and financial statements
• Election of officers

The Society is funded by members' admission fees and dues, grants from related organizations such as the association, and other non-profit surplus income; each fee is set by resolution of the members.

The fiscal year runs from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Matters not provided for in these bylaws follow customary practice.

Matters and detailed rules not provided for in these bylaws follow the bylaws of the Korean Dental Association.

These bylaws take effect on the date of approval by the General Assembly. In cases of unavoidable urgency, a matter may be deliberated and implemented through an emergency board meeting, subject to approval at the next General Assembly.
